"Seeing life and art through a different lens!"
"Seeing life and art through a different lens!"
Welcome to Spirited Heart Creations, my online gallery of photographic art, mixed media and traditional Ojibway one of a kind Dream Catchers. I see photography and art as a way to capture and express the beauty of the world around us. Through a unique artistic lens, I create interesting images by exposing the inner most parts of nature often unseen to the eye upon first glance. I capture the essence of life, its purpose and strive to evoke emotions, a different reality, curiosity and wonderment. I invite you to explore and be curious about the world around you and its color, texture, and beauty. I endeavour to inspire all to appreciate and protect it.
Thank you ... Miigwetch for visiting Spirited Heart Creations, enjoy!
Photograph (Indoor/Outdoor metal): Dahlia "Amazing Grace"
I would like to describe my photographic art or photography as that of my love of the seeing, observing and capturing nature in all its natural forms. To be curious about the interactions, interconnectedness and interdependence in nature between all life forms as well as highlight their resourcefulness and compatibility. The symbioses of nature and the feelings it awakes in me is that of true humbleness for having been given the opportunity to seize these moments in time. The photographs can be printed on Indoor/Outdoor metal (as shown) and on canvas. The Indoor/Outdoor metal art offers an opportunity and versatility for them to be hung both indoors and outdoors.

Each Dream Catcher evolves uniquely in its own time as I create each one. No one Dream Catcher is the same. They are weaved with the traditional Ojibway Grandmother (Nokomis) teachings.
…The Legend of Asibikaashi (Spider Woman) An Anishinaabe Legend….
The legend says that there was a spider woman named Asibikaashi who took care of the people of the Earth.
She watched over every creature of the world, bending over children’s cribs and beds while she wove a thin, delicate and strong web that was capable of capturing everything that was bad in its threads and making it vanish at dawn.
Spider Woman helped Nanabozho (spirit) bring giizis (sun) back to the people.
To this day, Asibikaashi will build her special lodge (spider web) before dawn.
If you are awake at dawn, look for her lodge and you will see the miracle of how she captures the sunrise as the light sparkles on the dew which is gathered there.
Asibikaashi took care of her children, the people of the land, and she continues to do so today.

I enjoy creating, using and reusing textiles, glass and pieces of nature incorporating them into my mixed media art pieces.
An idea is just an idea until it takes shape on a piece of canvas, wood and other mediums, unclear in the moment of how, why and what will unfold. It can prove to be unnerving at the time, nonetheless not knowing the end result brings unexpected surprising and pleasing results. Trusting as I set out, letting go of the outcome leads me to unearthing a vision I hadn't known existed until completion of a piece.
